Puppies are evaluated for type, temperament, and soundness.  Placement of a puppy in a new home is dependent on the home and the puppy's needs.  We try to match according to playfulness, social willingness, sound sensitivity, dominance level, and intelligence.  We also evaluate structure, movement, and color qualities.  Each puppy is evaluated on conformation show potential basis.  Only those most closely matching the American standards for a Great Dane are deemed "show potential".   The new owners have a significant impact on how each puppy will grow to their full potential.

If you have not owned a Great Dane before, check out my "Helpful Data" tab for general information on the breed along with other useful links.

Thank you to all those who have written me and complimented my Danes!  It is nice to hear that others appreciate them too!

These gentle giants make wonderful companions.  However, they do require love and care to keep them healthy.  A responsible Dane owner will care for and love him or her their entire life!  Dogs are not disposible.

If you are interested in a puppy from me, I do have a few requirements that will help us both ensure a successful match of your wishes and a puppy's well being:

All family companions are sold on a limited AKC registration and must be spayed or neutered.  I require an agreement signed by us both.

You need to have a fenced in yard (no electric fences please) and he or she must live in your house not in an outdoor dog house.  Crate training is recommended.

Show homes will also have an agreement to sign.  Circumstances in this case are different, therefore please contact me for more information.  I welcome all show home inquires as I do family companion homes.

All puppies will have their necessary shots and a limited warranty on genetic health issues.  Any puppy that leaves my home will be veterinarian checked and healthy before leaving for his or her forever home.  No puppy will be placed prior to his/her 8 week birthday.  This ensures that I have given them a good start health wise and have begun to provide initial training.

If you find you can not care for or keep one of my puppies, I receive the puppy back along with the papers signed over to me at your expense.  Never will you sell or give away this puppy.  If you have carefully considered getting a Great Dane puppy this should never happen, but by agreeing to this I can sleep better at night.  Rescue facilities are full of sad stories.  In fact, you may prefer to contact your local Great Dane rescue to adopt one!  This is the link to the Great Dane Club of America's rescue listing:   http://www.gdca.org/rescue.htm

Obedience puppy training is highly recommended once your veterinarian deems the puppy will be safe to do so.  As the puppy grows, follow up training is important so that you can have a happy healthy in control Great Dane.
